Welcome to Midgham Feather Down Farm
Welcome to our little slice of paradise in the heart of the Hampshire countryside. We offer luxurious camping retreats on our tranquil farm near the New Forest. Your well-equipped tents have
everything you need for the ultimate ‘glamping’ experience; comfortable beds, a cosy wood-burning stove, running water and a private WC.
Nestled in stunning woodlands, the camp is a short walk from the river Avon; a perfect picnicking spot. The view from the front of your tent is breathtaking, particularly in spring when the forest floor is blanketed in bright bluebells.
We wholeheartedly encourage you to enjoy everything the farm has to offer. We’ll give you the grand tour and introduce you to the bunnies, lambs, alpaca, pigs and pheasants. We also welcome children to help out with day to day farm activities such as feeding and grooming the animals.
A farm shop on site caters for daily meals and we provide bed linens, cooking utensils and BBQs. A break at Midgham Feather Down Farm is the perfect escape. Connect with nature, explore the local surroundings, relax, rejuvenate and spend quality time with your loved ones away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Location, Location, Location
The campsite is situated on a beautiful copse of land that has belonged to our family for hundreds of years. Pretty woodlands and delicate streams create a dreamy setting for your perfect holiday. The farm itself offers all the sights, sounds and smells of a small working farm, which is thrilling for children and adults alike.
Our rural location offers a relaxing and peaceful remoteness, but the farm is just two hours away from London and we’re easy to get to.
Midgham Feather Down Farm is on the doorstep of many local attractions including the New Forest and Fordingbridge. A short 20 minute drive will take you to some of the country’s most beautiful beaches or the bustling cathedral city of Salisbury.

Reviews and Testimonials
We love hearing what our happy campers have to say. Here are some of our most recent reviews:
"This is the second year that we have booked out Midgham farm for the weekend. The children run wild while the adults cook pizza in the wood fired oven and build a campfire! It's fabulous. Sammy always makes us feel incredibly welcome and her farm tour is a real highlight of the weekend. Without a doubt, we will be booking for next year." Kerry Taylor, May 2013
"Sammy worked extremely hard to make sure that we had a really enjoyable and memorable experience and, even though it is over 400 miles from where we live we would definitely like to go back. This was a holiday that our children will talk about for the rest of their lives." Ester Golding-Webb, April 2013
"Sammy, our hostess, was so lovely to us and to the kids in particular, really encouraging them to help and be involved. They went off independently to feed pigs, horses, rabbits, kids, lambs and chickens returning back with fresh eggs! The tent was warm, comfortable and we had a great weekend, thanks so much!" Rebecca Byrne, April 2013
"We thought Sammy & the farm at Midgham where we stayed were excellent. Organised, clean & friendly. Due to the very cold Spring weather we were impressed we were allowed unlimited logs for the fire which meant we stayed very very warm during minus 2 temp at nights." Vicki Usher, April 2013
“A much needed peaceful break in the wonderful New Forest. Everything you want from the great outdoors but without the pain and inconvenience that sometimes comes with camping! Midgham Farm is the perfect setting, not too remote that you can't nip into Fordinbridge for pub lunch or a supermarket run but remote enough to lose yourself from the rat race and feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. The excellently set up Feather Down farm tents set in the most magical woodland on the friendliest of farms.” Dave B, Nov 2012 (via TripAdvisor)
“Sammy was an excellent host, dealing with all the guests personally as they arrived. She had also rung before we left home to go through a few things which we felt was a really nice touch.
There was another little girl about the same age as ours who had been put in the tent next door which was great as they hooked up together soon after arriving.
The farm tour was great fun and not something we had expected but showed us all the highlights and gave us our bearings too. The night the pizza oven was lit was great as it brought everyone
out to have a chat whilst the pizza cooked.
Our daughter loved the fact she could pet the rabbits, collect eggs, feed the lambs, muck out the stables! feed the horses. The two new foals were just an added bonus. Sammy made her feel very
special and a big help (not always easy with 8 year olds!)” Rita S, June 2012 (via TripAdvisor)
